The Advantage: Its Head Is the Hammer

Swimming straight toward the viewer in cool blue water, a shark is shown from a frontal three-quarter angle with a real metal claw-hammer head set crosswise across the front of its body in place of its own head. One side shows the hammer's polished steel striking face pointing outward, the curved split claw angling out on the other — exactly where the shark's wide head would otherwise spread. Rather than being carried or strapped on like a tool, the hammer grows directly out of the shark's body: its steel shank flows from the rough grey skin at the join, making the hammer the animal's own head rather than something it holds. Behind that head the rest of the shark continues as counter-shaded grey skin, complete with dorsal fin, pectoral fins, and a long tail, all reading as coherent with the head it now carries. Cool, filtered light slants down from above through the water, catching the brushed metal of the hammer and the grey skin behind it while faint particles drift through the depths. The surrounding water stays unlettered with no text anywhere in the frame, and the whole shark together with its hammer head is held inside a 16:9 wide composition.
