Backlit, a Talisman Catches Fire

A gold-eyed priestess stands with her back to a blazing, blurred light source while a talisman burns through the dark, its glowing edge stealing the scene from her own face.

Prompt notes

✍️ The light source itself is texture-less, oversized, and deliberately blurred — that's what keeps the backlight from looking cheap. What actually makes or breaks the shot is where the talisman's flame sits: it has to override the key light's sense of direction, or the figure won't read as solid.

A Taoism-themed anime/game splash art. The subject is a young woman with a beguiling expression and golden irises, centered in frame, her pose rising from about a quarter of the way up the composition. She wears a Taoist priest's cap painted with bagua trigrams and an ornately crafted golden Taoist robe, her waist cinched with a belt hung with copper coins, bells, and a large yin-yang pendant. Her right hand forms a mudra in front of her chest while the other holds up a burning golden talisman, flame and pale smoke rising and spreading along its edge. Behind her, centered, hangs a huge, texture-less light source with soft, blurred edges, rimming her silhouette in a ring of backlit gold; scattered around her are faint floating talismans, scorch marks, and wisps of smoke. The overall lighting is high-contrast and dramatic, accented by foreground flame, the palette deep and saturated with gold as the highlight color. Digital-painting finish, clean image with no clutter of fine speckling, background thrown into soft, shallow-depth-of-field blur. Vertical mobile wallpaper, aspect ratio 9:19.5.
