By a flowing stream she kneels rinsing silk yarn: Xishi rendered in exquisite Chinese Gongbi brushwork, costumed as a Warring States empress in a five-colour silk robe stitched with mandarin ducks beneath a moiré shawl. Floral makeup dusts her rosy cheeks, fine ink outlines trace the fabric alongside gold-leaf accents, lychee peels and peach-blossom petals scatter across the grass, carp glide beneath the surface, and loose petals drift through the air above a soft rice-paper backdrop with an ivory texture.

溪邊浣紗的西施，扮成戰國王后模樣：五色雲錦繡鴛鴦，外罩一層縹緲雲肩。腮上貼著花鈿，衣紋用極細的墨線勾邊再貼金箔，草地上散著荔枝殼和桃花瓣，水裡遊著鯉魚，幾片花瓣飄在空中，背景是米白宣紙的柔和底子。
