All the Wheat Is Down, Except That One Strip

Flat overcast daylight, muted farm colours, imperfect medium-format film, restrained grain, slight exposure irregularities, observational realism, with no theatrical lighting, fantasy effects, people, buildings, symbols or text. Subject: an unsettling documentary photograph of a ripe wheat field in northern England in 1995, seen from close and high up, the whole frame given over to wheat and the horizon absent. Countless dry stalks are pressed almost flat in a single direction by an unexplained, continuous physical force. Across the middle runs a thin ragged ribbon of ordinary wheat that still stands naturally, with no fence or break to explain it; it is not taller or healthier than the crop around it. The contrast is subtle, physically credible and slow to notice. --no glowing objects, portals, floating structures, dramatic skies, mountains, cinematic color grading --ar 9:16 --profile yb12lmu --profile qu4hqfq --profile ckopvgv --v 8.2
