A Leaf Mantis Hidden in the Veins
Macro photograph of a leaf-mimicking mantis resting on a fresh green leaf.
✍️ The key to mimicry is a silhouette roughly equal to the leaf edge, not merely a similar color. Sharp head, soft body: compare them and you see it, and if the proportions are off even slightly, the trick gives itself away.

Macro photograph of a leaf-mimicking mantis resting on a fresh green leaf. The insect silhouette subtly echoes the serrated foliage, anatomically clear legs and antennae, natural diffuse daylight, narrow depth of field with a sharp head, no text.
