A Steam Locomotive Waiting at a Western Platform at Night
A low head-on view of an old steam engine, with its headlamp and the platform lights the only warm light in the frame.
✍️ Old Shanghai folks care about "attitude", and so does a locomotive: shot low and head-on, the steel overpowers you. Only the headlamp and a few platform lights remain at night, and keeping the light sources few forces out the contrast. To name a painting style you don't need an artist's name; "narrative illustration oil painting" works just as well.

Oil painting in the manner of a classic American narrative illustrator: a low-angle, head-on view of steam locomotive No. 844, a Northern-type engine, easing alongside a passenger platform somewhere out west. It is night. The locomotive's headlamps are lit, and a few lamps glow above the platform. --ar 2:3 --v 8.2
