A French Bulldog and Yellow Birds at the Cafe Table
Opaque gouache inside a cream paper border: a blonde girl with glasses, a man in an olive shirt, plus a pied French bulldog.
✍️ The bulldog sits in front of the table and instantly becomes the center of gravity; everyone walking by looks at the dog first. Cream border plus opaque gouache makes the whole piece feel pasted into a journal, and the plaid chair and yellow birds are small easter eggs dropped in along the way.

Café scene around a round table: a merle French bulldog with upright ears sits up front; behind it a blonde woman with a short bob and round glasses, in a cream cardigan and blue jeans, props her elbow on the tabletop, and a man in round glasses, an olive overshirt and khakis has a coffee cup in hand. A croissant, two cups and white flowers sit on the table, checkered bistro chairs stand around, and leafy green foliage, small yellow songbirds and lavender flecks fill the space. Rendered as a loose painterly gouache wash illustration, fully opaque, inside a cream vignetted paper border, with warm sunlit brushstrokes.
