Guardian Deity, Eyes Fiercer Than the Armor

The tone of the image is pitched as an ancient deity-and-demon scroll, using the silk-painting, mineral-pigment texture of Dunhuang murals as its baseline: extremely fine line work, decorative patterns layered one over another, the texture of aged paper, and the distinctive weathered look of ancient illustrated manuscripts.
