This Clock Shop Sells Only Second Hands, No Clocks

A cosy secondhand clock shop fills a 16:9 wide frame edge to edge, every display sitting fully inside the border. What this shop sells, though, is nothing but loose clock second hands: glass cases hold velvet-lined trays of slender red pointers, each a single tapered rod with a small counterweight tail, while rows of wall hooks carry dozens more of the same red pointers hung in neat angled rows under warm spotlights - the wooden counter and brass fittings glowing in that same warm light. Nowhere is there a complete clock, a clock body, a movement, or an extra dial, except for one. That one exception hangs on the right wall: a single large round analog clock, its plain blank ivory dial carrying only thin black tick marks and two black hands, the centre visibly missing a second hand. Directly below it, a single red second hand rests on a small velvet stand as the odd one singled out for comparison. The shopkeeper stands between stand and clock, leaning slightly toward the dial with a fixed gaze, both hands tucked fully into the front pockets of a canvas apron so every finger and thumb stays hidden inside - five digits present or clearly accounted for either way.
