Tweaking This Map Outline Till Dawn
Filling in the outline ate up the most time — aligning the collage scenes nearly made me throw my keyboard.
✍️ The trick with this kind of poster is that the outline has to be established first, with detail scenes filling in as secondary information. Do it backwards — piling on scenery before cutting the outline — and you'll basically be starting over.

Use the complete map silhouette of a destination as the canvas, seamlessly filling its interior with representative scenes — mountain and coastal landscapes, old-town streets, night lights, and street food. Rather than piling up scattered landmarks, let the silhouette itself carry a double role as both map and storyline: the reader recognizes the country's outline first, then gets pulled into the detail.
