Young Neighbor and Elder Sharing Cherries at a Lakeside Table

Subject first. At a plain wooden table on the shore of a small lake, in warm midday light, two men sit side by side looking out at the water. On the left is a slim Irish man in his mid twenties: fair freckled skin, bright green eyes, tousled copper-red hair, ginger stubble, a small chipped front tooth, green t-shirt. On the right is a tall Black man in his mid eighties with a slight stoop, deeply creased dark brown skin, close-cropped white hair and a neat white moustache, in a mustard short-sleeved shirt. Between them stands a bowl of cherries. The younger man spits a stone into his cupped hand; the older man laughs, head tipped back. Two straw hats lie on the table, sparkling water behind. High summer: leafy trees, dry green grass, golden warmth. Shot as an observational documentary photograph, a real photograph captured on 35mm film, 35mm lens, f/5.6 so the depth of field stays generous, with open visible grain. One soft overcast daylight key from high in front falls evenly over every surface, shadows loose and open and gathering only lightly under ledges and folds. Plain desaturated grade, honest midtone contrast, unpolished texture. Wide 16:9 frame, side view at eye level, framed from the waist up. Constraints: every hand shows four fingers and a thumb, exactly five digits visible or anatomically accounted for. No readable words, numbers, logos or brand marks on any label, banner, bunting, bag, box or sign; those stay blank or plain colour. No children in the picture.
