A raised miniature diorama modelled entirely in thick impasto paint, standing on an oval base built from palette-knife ridges of stone and leaves, all on a plain cream ground. At a round marble cafe table sit a blonde woman with a bob, in a cream cardigan and jeans, chin resting on her hand, and beside her a blond man in an olive shirt and tan trousers; a merle French bulldog sits in front of them. Behind: a painted sky and a panel of ivy-covered wall. Around the table: woven-checker chairs, a terracotta pot with an olive tree, two coffee cups, a croissant and a vase of white flowers.
